Introduction to Meditation, Part 3

4 week program for advanced meditators

This program is designed for participants in the “Introduction to Meditation 1 and 2” courses, as well as former participants in mindfulness courses such as MBSR or MBCT, and anyone who would like to deepen their existing meditation practice.

If you wish, you can book a one-on-one session with the instructor to prepare for this course.

In Advanced Course 3, we will begin by revisiting the meditation experiences from the previous courses. What experiences have you had with meditation so far, and what obstacles have you encountered along the way? As the course progresses, we will delve deeper into the practice of meditation, exploring both familiar and new forms of meditation together and sharing our experiences as a group.

Over the course of these four evenings, you will explore various topics related to meditation. These include:

Week 1: The 7-Point Posture and the 4 Stages of Mindfulness
Week 2: The 5 Hindrances to Meditation and Vipassana Meditation
Week 3: True Nature, the 3 Characteristics of Existence, and the Question of Emptiness
Week 4: Tonglen and Other Forms of Meditation

Meditation helps:

  • Being present in everyday life

  • Dealing with internal and external challenges in life

  • Grow (self-)awareness

  • Cultivate serenity

  • To extend the attention span

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Promote emotional and physical health (including sleep)

Meditation is not a panacea. If you have a pre-existing mental illness, please contact the course instructor before registering to assess whether meditation is suitable for your case.
