One-Day Seminar - The Anxious Brain
One-day seminar for former course participants and people interested in Positive Neuroplasticity.
Anxiety—often shortened to "anxiety"—is a common disorder of the nervous system. Unlike fear of a specific danger, anxiety manifests itself in many people as a feeling of everyday unease that easily puts us on high alert and causes us to become excessively nervous and hypervigilant, regardless of whether there is actually an immediate danger.
At the beginning of the year, I had the opportunity to lead a weekly discussion group as part of the 12-week program “Rewiring Your Anxious Brain” by Rick Hanson, the founder of Positive Neuroplasticity Training.
In the process, I’ve learned a lot about anxiety myself. For example, how to recognize that the spiral of anxiety is often nothing more than a habit I picked up at some point—and one that I can therefore break.
Feeling fear or anxiety signals to us that our nervous system does not feel sufficiently safe. In positive neuroplasticity training, we learn how to bring our "danger avoidance system" back from the red zone into the green zone.
Contents:
A refresher (or introduction) to Positive Neuroplasticity training and the HEAL method
Learn how to move the hazard avoidance system from the red zone to the green zone
Exercises to promote safety, security, and a sense of well-being in everyday life
An exercise to develop a physical sense of strength
Exploring various aspects of anxiety
A series of strategies and exercises for managing anxiety
The one-day seminar is primarily intended as a refresher for former participants of the three-day PNT basic seminar. Anyone interested in Positive Neuroplasticity Training is also welcome to attend.
